Mission

Orca ensures everyone can build safe, controllable AI.

We are technology pioneers, bringing together creative and motivated innovators who believe building safer, more controllable AI is vital for the future. We are making AI systems more efficient, accessible, explainable, and safe using Hybrid AI methods.

Sound interesting? Let’s talk! We’re always looking for awesome people to join our team, even if we don’t have a specific role posted.

Life at Orca

Partner with an awesome team that loves to build cutting edge technology. We also care deeply about respecting our teammates as thinkers, problem-solvers and individuals. It also means that we’ve tried to prioritize what we believe really matters for our employees (even if it makes this part of the site a little boring):

  1. Competitive, equitable compensation and benefits: Our best chance of reaching our goals is getting amazing people (like you) on the Orca team, so we’re committed to ensuring that our compensation and benefits meet our employees needs.
  2. Very remote friendly: You choose the best set up for your job (and your life), and we really respect that. We do get the entire team together on a regular basis, so you don’t get completely isolated, though.
  3. Lots of autonomy: We believe you’re probably better than anyone else on the team at your job, so we get out of your way and let you meet your goals quickly.
  4. Genuinely supportive colleagues: the team is “confidently collaborative,” so everyone is confident enough to both push forward new ideas, comfortable enough to receive inputs from others and realize that anyone on the team may have a better solution. This mindset also means people are generous asking for and providing support to other teammates.
  5. Very limited use of meetings: They’re expensive, hard to make effective and can create delays getting work done. We really try to limit standing meetings so there’s time for uninterrupted work or quick (and focused) collaboration sessions.
  6. An appreciation that you have a life outside the office: Working hours creep is real, whether it’s another team bonding activity, that Slack while you’re at dinner with friends or one “critical” deadline after another. You’ve also got other priorities in your life, so the team understands when you need to work unique or different hours!
